School of Business of Uttara University arranged a seminar on “Merger in Telecom Industry of Bangladesh and the Challenges” at 3:00pm on 1 February 2017 Wednesday at the IQAC Seminar Hall of the university. The program was Chaired by Prof. Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University. In the program, Major Humayun Kabir, Former Head of Company Affairs, Robi Axiata, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Farah Diba Afroze, Account Manager, Enterprise Market, Commercial Division, Grameenphone, Dhaka, Bangladesh, were the Guest Speakers. The participants of the seminar were the students and faculty members of School of Business. At the very beginning, Prof. Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Chairman of DBA, School of Business, Uttara University, welcomed the guests and participants on behalf of the School of Business of Uttara University. Major Humayun Kabir, Former Head of Company Affairs, Robi Axiata, Dhaka, Bangladesh, delivered his speech on Merger in Telecom Industry of Bangladesh having special impact on Human Resources of the two compnaies. He mentioned that Robi-Airtel merger is the largest merger in the history of Bangladesh and this merger needed to have a special attention to the compensation of the employees. Ms. Farah Diba Afroze, Account Manager, Enterprise Market, Commercial Division, Grameenphone, Dhaka, Bangladesh, delivered lecture on the Challenges of Merger in Telecom Industry of Bangladesh. She briefly pointed out the key challenges for all telecom companies after the biggest merger in the country. Both of the Guest Speakers answered several questions from the audiences. The seminar was summed up by the Prof. Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University. The seminar was concluded with a vote of thanks given by Md. Mohedul Islam, Assistant Professor & Coordinator of BBA, School of Business, Uttara University.  More than 100 senior students and the faculty members of SOB were present in the seminar.
